If i find out fox don't want them up i will take them down asap. 19/02/2K 7:38PM After an exchange of emails with http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ it now has become evident that he only ever intented me to make something based on his idea, instead of something very similiar to it. This was not entirely clear to me at the time and i regret any incovenience this has caused and deeply apologise (hope there's no hard feelings). i'll see what i can do about put my own style into the idea but in the mean time i give full credit to http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ and urge you to check out his own covers. 18/02/2K 12:47PM Seeing as http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ has taken down his covers pending a reply from fox, i think it would be wise if i did the same (seeing as the objects in question are the same on the both of our covers. Stay tuned. 17/02/2K 1:32PM Just thought i'd clear up something about the new covers. Someone has posted in the guestbook that i have blatantly copied the covers of someone else. This is not entirely true. I admit that i added a synopsis and image of each episode to the back cover of my covers but i did this only asking and receiving explicit permission to do so. Seeing as everything belongs to fox (synopsis' images, etc) no fan has any right in regards to anything they male which is deriviated from these official sources. In spite of this, i went out of my way to ask the webmaster of http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ for permission to use his idea: EMAIL EXTRACTS REMOVED i was without a doubt that i had permission to use his design, as i'm sure you would be if you got such a response. i am now awaiting a reply from http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ asking him what he wants me to do now seeing as the person who signed the guesbook (without prior giving me a way to defend myself) has apparently contacted http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ to which i got a reply. it now seems that he has changed what he said and now wants to know why the covers are so similar on the back - but realistically, how many ways can you change the look of a black background (which i need to be consistent with my covers) and a few images and pieces of text. Now don't get me wrong here, the only reason i used the idea from http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rscriva/ is because i was without a doubt that i had permission. i clearly stated what i wanted to do. i really liked what he had done, and sincerely thought it would add something to my covers. i totally respect him and his works and simply want to clear up this difficult issue, and come to some kind of fair and realistic arrangement. 14/02/2K 6:33PM New Version covers are up and let me tell you they look awesome ;-). Head over to the downloads page to check them out. Major changes include synopsis/image for each episode on the back cover and most importantly an extra image file for the inside of the case. this can be printed on the back of the normal cover (or printed on sep sheet) so that you can have chapter stops on the inside.. just like a normal dvd. check out these previews to see what i'm rambling about. Note that the actual files (uncompressed tiff's) look a LOT better than these highly compressed jpg previews.
cya, gOoBaLL 13/02/2K 10:15PM Just wanted to let you know that in a few days you can expect a major update of season 1/2 covers. they have been severely revamped so if you want the current covers i suggest you get them asap. cya. 18/12/2K 3:12PM I have reuploaded season 1 releases 2 and 3 into individual files due to a reason uknown to me which made the large zip files which contained them undownloadable. from now on all downloads will be in individual discs.. sorry. BTW don't be suprised if the jpg previews don't work as am getting a
little short of space. i will try and get the jpgs back up at another
point in time.
18/12/2K 10:34AM All of the season 2 covers are out and are looking pretty cool :-). Head over to the download page to get them and PLEASE sign the guestbook (keep comments short because geocities have a length limit or email me @ xfdvd_project@hotmail.com. N.B. The reason why the covers are not in one big zip is because the geocities ftp is pretty bad and when i try and upload large files there are dropouts which means corrupted files. 7/12/2K 4:26PM Disc one of season 2 is out. there may be some typo's but these will
be fixed. I NEED TO KNOW YOUR COMMENTS and when I do I will release the
rest of the season 2 covers. Download it 27/11/2K 9:11PM Hi again. I uploaded a test for season 2 which can be downloaded i realise releae 2/3 downloads dont work and this will be fixed sometime soon but the new season 2 DEFINITELY DOES WORk. later, gOoBaLL 26/11/2K 10:59AM Release 2 removed, release 3 uploaded. This should work. I've been having problems uploading but it seems to be fixed now. This will probably be the last release for season 1 but that could change.. I also need to know how people want season 2 set out. 25/11/2K 6:06PM The new release 2 download doesn't seem to be downloading - don't know why.. Also forget my comments about updates made earlier today. No cover set will ever be "final" and will be permanent WIPS. I didn't like the idea of restricting myself from making changes. Even though they are permanent WIPS I will of course stop working after each cover set after a certain point. next update will be the same as release 2 (which i can't download, don't know about anyone else - email me if you caa/can't so i know) except the spine will be black with white text as someone suggested. Looks very cool ;-) BTW is still want to know how it looks when you print - can you see dots or not? cya, gOoBaLl 25/11/2K 12:10PM New layout. Release 2 of season 1 covers are uploaded (one big zip file, slight changes, smaller for some reason). New naming system for files - e.g s1r2da.zip means "season 1, release 2, disc all". Site layout change. We also have a new way in which updates will work. When covers appear they will be W.I.P.'s (work in progress'). This means that that new versions will continue to be uploaded using comments i receive until I decide it is ready and it reaches FINAL state. FINAL means that the covers are complete and no new versions will come out. Sorry to all the people who downloaded the first version.. i hadn't had this idea yet.. I also need to know what covers look like when printed in terms of dots per inch. i mean can you e.g. see all the dots or not? BTW Season 2 won't be too far away.. i need to know what you want. Do people want similar layout as season one etc. gOoBaLL out. 24/11/2K 2:03PM Zip5 Reuploaded - Should now work.. Make sure you spread the word ;-) Please sign the guestbook so I know there is an interest and I will continue to make them as long as fox continue to make the custom cases. I value you comments. Particularly has anyone got any ideas for the layout of the back of disc 7 - i dont like it. Btw next week a new set will be added for season 1 with a few slight differences bases on comments i recieved. It will also be in one big zip file. Stay tuned.. gOoBaLL
